Installing BankID Security Application in corporate environments
This guide is mainly intended for staff responsible for or affected by:
Packaging of software before installation.
Software installation on workstations.
Configuration of local or central proxies and/or firewalls.
Two variants of the program
The BankID Security Application (BankID program) is needed to allow users to download,
use and manage BankID on file or on card. The program is available in two versions:
The standard variant is suitable when only a few computers need the program. Get the standard variant
The enterprise variant is suitable for companies where many computers need the program. Get the enterprise variant
Good to know
A number of files are stored centrally and when a user logs in for the first time they are stored in the user's home directory.
Automatic version control helps to ensure that the currently installed BankID program is an accepted version. This control is important, not least from a security point of view. A version that is not accepted will not work.
When the program is uninstalled, user-specific files remain on the computer, such as user settings and any BankID on file. All user-specific information is stored in a separate directory in the user’s home directory.
