Verifying an ID document is usually a quick process and it can be difficult to determine if it's real and valid. With our digital ID card, your employees can feel safe:
It can only be activated with a valid Swedish passport or national ID card.
You can to a real time validation by scanning the QR code with a BankID app or with a scanner connected to BankID.
How to verify the digital ID card
The most secure way to verify a digital ID card is by scanning the QR code displayed on the card. This is recommended when, for example, selling age restricted goods. You can use a scanner connected to our service, or another BankID app.
Scanner connected to the BankID service
You can verify the digital ID card with scanner connected to BankID. When doing so, a more advanced check is performed which meets the requirements for a so-called proven and reliable identification:
• Trust level 3 according to the Swedish eID quality mark.
• Trust level Substantial in accordance with the eIDAS regulation.
• Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) according to PSD2.
You get a digital proof of identification document for each identification.
Scan with a BankID app
You can scan the QR code on the digital ID card with a BankID app.
You get a digital real time verification.
You and your colleagues can use the same phone.
Open the BankID app and click the button 'Scan QR code'. You can’t use the phone's camera app. It's possible to use a BankID app without an activated BankID.
The information from the ID card will be displayed in the BankID app you scan with, but the information isn't stored.
Simple visual verification
It's also possibllle to verify the digital ID card like a physical one by comparing the information and the image to the person. There are several security details such as sound, motion and colour to help you. If you are uncertain, you can always verify the digital ID card with a BankID app instead.
Training is important!
Digital ID cards are fairly new and it's important that you educate your employees on how to do a secure verification.
Getting started
To scan with a BankID-app or do the simpler visual validation, your employees will need training but no technical implementaion is needed.
The more advanced validation requires a connection to BankID. If your company already has an agreement about BankID you can use our API to validate ID cards.
