Ddos attack against BankID's website

During Sunday morning, a group of hackers, through a so-called Ddos attack, tried to take down our website www.bankid.com.
It's not the BankID service itself that has been exposed but only our website.
As a vital part of Sweden's digital infrastructure, we are exposed to many attacks of this kind and have well-balanced protections to counteract their effects. The attack on our website www.bankid.com has not resulted in it going down. We are and have been available all the time, both the BankID service and the attacked website.
DDos attacks are a threat to all businesses that have a digital presence online and unfortunately it is so common that everyone will be exposed sooner or later. Therefore, it is extremely important to plan, practice and have countermeasures to deploy when an attack occurs.
