Next year it will be 20 years since the first identification and signature using BankID. Accordning to our latest Novus survey, as many as 87 percent of respondents consider BankID to be the most important app. We'd like to keep it that way. And we will continue developing and providing fast, secure digitial identifications and signatures.

Facial recognition – this is how it works

Facial recognition is becoming more common and is already being used in many security systems, along with other biometric methods such as fingerprinting and voice recognition. The technology identifies you by means of a comparison with an image or video. There are different ways of doing this.

Secure start will be mandatory in 2024

Secure start will soon be made mandatory for BankID. All public authorities, companies and organisations using BankID in their e-services must use Secure start by 1 May 2024.

Information on solutions for telephone services, in which Secure start can’t be used, will be issued later. E-services will have at least one year for any adaptations to telephone services.

Reduce the risk of social fraud

Vishing, Phising and Smishing are just a few of the many kinds of fraud in existence. We are constantly updating BankID to reduce the risks of fraud. Follow our recommendations when you integrate BankID into your services and you will increase security for your customers.
