We closed 2024 with continued strong growth and a survey showing that BankID is the most important app according to the Swedes.

For us 2024 was a year marked by intensive security work, collaboration, and crime-fighting measures to help reduce fraud in our digital Sweden. We launched new functionalities and several improvements, and we also saw continued strong growth of both users and services that use BankID. With that said, we were thrilled when we received the news that, according to our latest Novus survey, Swedes consider BankID to be the most important app for them. A result we are incredibly proud of.
Let's look at some of the other findings from our survey and 2024 statistics.
The users has spoken
The survey also shows that 95 percent of Swedes have a high level of trust in BankID, and 99 percent agree that BankID is smooth and easy to use. Additionally, 87 percent say that BankID is the most important app for them. By using BankID in your digital services, you provide your customers with a smooth, safe and secure customer experience, increasing both trust and customer satisfaction for your business.
We continue to grow
In addition to the fact that trust in BankID remains strong, 2024 was no exception to the growth of BankID in Swedish society. We currently have over 8.6 million users and 7,500 connected services that use BankID. The Novus survey also showed that we have increased our NPS, which is now up to 80. A result that shows that both services and end-users feel safe and secure using BankID, something we are glad and honored to hear.
500 million more identifications/signatures
During the year, a total of 7.6 billion transactions were carried out (approximately 240 identifications/signatures per second), an increase of 500 million from the previous year. Additionally, we had an impressive 99.99% availability rate during 2024. With that said, by using BankID you can be sure of a reliable and accessible service for your customers, even during the most demanding periods.

The ID card is here to stay
Consumers have spoken and want to leave their wallets at home. With 1.7 million users in just under 18 months since its launch, users are clear about wanting to see more business accepting the digital ID card from BankID. During 2024, we have had close cooperation with the business community and authorities to spread knowledge about how you can easily scan the QR code and thus get a fast and reliable identification in real time. A collaboration that will continue in 2025.
One thing is certain when users get to have their say: the digital ID card is here to stay.

We are humble and proud of the high level of trust and how important the BankID app is to Swedes. With that said, our highest priority is to ensure that BankID is as safe and reliable as it has always been, and we will continue to do so in 2025. Improvements and updates are made continuously, sometimes automatically, and sometimes services that use BankID need to make changes.
